Infra-red Heating

Collage showing some places where infra-red heating can be used.

The ultimate source of radiated heat is the sun, which generates vast amounts of infra-red heat through gas consumption. Gas-fired infra-red heaters are sometimes called mini suns because they also rely on gas consumption to generate heat.

Instead of warming the air in a room, infra-red heat warms at floor level - offering a major advantage as warm air rises.

Typically, gas-fired infra-red heaters are mounted overhead to direct infra-red energy to the floor, where it can be absorbed by objects; these objects in turn heat the air. The floor and objects continue to release heat into the air, even after cold air is introduced or the infra-red heaters are turned off.

Infra-red heaters deliver efficient, economic heat, safely and reliably in settings such as:

  • Industrial plants
  • Warehouses
  • Transportation terminals
  • Loading docks
  • Aircraft hangars
  • Automotive service shops
  • Sports arenas
  • And many other hard-to-heat areas
